Murasaki Shikibu Park
This park was created in honor of Murasaki Shikibu, the author of The Tale of Genji(Genji monogatari), who spent a year and a half in Takefu when her father, Tametoki Fujiwara, was transferred to her post.It is the only Shinden-zukuri garden in Japan that imitates the residences of aristocrats in the Heian period. Ponds and Tsukiyama (artificial mountains) are set against the Mt Hino.At the adjacent Fujinami-tei, you can try on a junihitoe (reservation required). You can take a stroll in the elegant atmosphere of the vermillion-lacquered bridge and the golden Murasaki Shikibu statue in harmony.

Hoenji Temple
This temple was protected by Toshiie Maeda, the first feudal lord of the Kaga domain.
